Dr. Peter D. Costantino, Director

Under the guidance of Peter D. Costantino, MD, FACS, the Center for Cranial Base Surgery has gained a national, and international reputation for technical excellence and superior patient outcomes.

Dr. Costantino is a recognized expert in craniofacial tumor surgery, as well as aesthetic and functional facial reconstruction. He pioneered the development of several new biomaterials and surgical techniques for the replacement of missing facial bone and soft tissue. These developments have advanced the ability to restore patients to their pre-surgical appearance and function. Dr. Costantino is dual board certified in otolaryngology and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. He also is Joint Council certified in head and neck oncology.

Alejandro Berenstein, MD, is the director of Beth Israel's Hyman-Newman Institute for Neurology and Neurosurgery (INN) at Roosevelt Hospital in New York City, a state-of-the-art facility for the diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases. He is a pioneer in the emerging field of interventional neuroradiology, a specialty that utilizes minimally invasive procedures to treat conditions related to the vascular system of the brain, head, face, spine and spinal cord.

Speech and Swallowing Rehabilitation

Dr. Eric Cohen is committed to providing high quality, individualized medical and surgical treatment to all patients with conditions of the ears, nose and throat. He has fellowship training in the evaluation and treatment of voice and swallowing disorders. When laryngeal surgery is indicated, Dr. Cohen is able to perform many procedures in the office setting. Minimally invasive in-office laryngeal surgery allows the patient to avoid the risks, inconvenience and recovery time associated with general anesthesia.

Radiation Oncologist

Louis B. Harrison, MD, serves as the Clinical Director of Continuum Cancer Centers of New York and Chairman of Radiation Oncology at Beth Israel Medical Center and St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals. Dr. Harrison is an internationally recognized and extensively published expert in the areas of head and neck cancer, sarcomas, and intraoperative brachytherapy. He has been a leader in the development of multidisciplinary management strategies that prioritize cancer cure with organ and function preservation. In addition, Dr. Harrison serves as a Co-Director of the Institute for Head and Neck and Thyroid Cancer, and he is also a Professor of Radiation oncology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Before coming to Continuum, he was the Chief of the Brachytherapy Service and Leader of the Head and Neck Cancer Disease Management Team at Memorial Sloan- Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Jonathan B. Lesser is the Deputy Associate Chairman, Anesthesiology of St. Lukes Roosevelt Hospital.
